This guy loves the elderberries. So much that he’s basically destroyed one bush already. And while bears have been spotted all over town this summer eating garbage and getting themselves into trouble, this guy is just doing what a bear should do. But I have to discourage him in hope that he’ll stay out of the yard and we won’t have a close encounter when I’m wandering up or down the path. 

He’s been out there the last two mornings, and when I come out on the porch and start banging things and shouting, before he wanders away, he turns, slowly, and gives me this look. I swear it’s “But, Mom! I’m not doing ANYTHING wrong!” I’m sorry bear. You’re very sweet from a distance. Let’s keep it that way.
